Lin's Cupric Sulfate Medium (LCSM) is used for the detection and enumeration of wild yeast. Cupric sulfate is added to the media to inhibit the growth of most S. cerevisiae strains. Many S. cerevisiae var diastatic yeast strains are able to grow on LCSM, making it a great media for detecting STA1/2 positive yeast. Plates are aerobically incubated.
Samples are plated in duplicate. Results are reported as average cells/mL and include images of positive plates.
