Dimethyl sulfide (DMS) is a sulfur compound found in beer that is an off flavor at high concentrations. It is especially prevalent in beers brewed with pale malts like pilsners. The flavor threshold of DMS is ≈30 ppb, and our method can accurately detect DMS below 20 ppb. 

  • Required sample volume: 12 or 16 oz packaged product (contact the lab if submitting a sample prior to packaging)
  • Turnaround time: 7-10 days
  • Method of analysis: ASBC Beer-44 (with modifications)
